Service Description

Welcome to Instant Theatre’s Skill-Focused Improv Workshops! Looking to sharpen your improv skills for the world of spontaneous creativity? Our series of Skill-Focused Improv Workshops are designed to help you build the essential tools for successful improvisation, one step at a time. Each workshop zeroes in on a specific improv skill, providing a supportive and interactive environment for beginners and experienced performers alike. Whether you're mastering listening, honing your character work, or improving your scene-building, these workshops will boost your confidence, spark your creativity, and refine your stage presence. In "Communication," learn to create distinct, believable characters by exploring their drive, attributes, and context. This workshop will help you quickly develop characters with clear viewpoints, altering physical and vocal traits to bring them to life throughout a scene. This workshop is taught by Bryan Clark, an instructor for Instant Theatre Company. Bryan (he/him), a proud Manitoba native, began his improv journey on February 6, 2016. Since that transformative day, he has trained extensively across Vancouver and at renowned institutions such as The Annoyance, The Pack, UCB, Second City, iO, and BATS. Bryan is a member of the improv ensemble Embezzlement and frequently performs with Instant Theatre, as well as in other shows throughout the city. Accessibility in the space: -There are stairs leading up to the secondary performance space utilized for this workshop. -The venue has six private washrooms on the main floor, one of which is fully accessible with a power assisted door.
