Welcome to Instant Theatre’s Skill-Focused Improv Workshops! Looking to sharpen your improv skills for the world of spontaneous creativity? Our series of Skill-Focused Improv Workshops are designed to help you build the essential tools for successful improvisation, one step at a time. Each workshop zeroes in on a specific improv skill, providing a supportive and interactive environment for beginners and experienced performers alike. Whether you're mastering listening, honing your character work, or improving your scene-building, these workshops will boost your confidence, spark your creativity, and refine your stage presence. "Story" focuses on creating engaging scenes by building a strong foundation of story using characters, environment, and relationships. Exploring how to discover and resolve the central question of the scene. This workshop is taught by Zach Wolfman, an instructor for Instant Theatre Company. Zach (he/him), is an actor, improviser, and educator living on the traditional, unceded, and ancestral territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations (Vancouver). Zach has a BFA in acting and BEd from UBC. Zach has completed Canada’s national voice intensive, trained with Theatre for living, and studied clown with John Turner. Zach is a member of the Spontaneous Shakespeare company and Sin Peaks the improvised soap opera. Zach has been improvising actively since 2011 performing in improvised musicals, puppet shows, hip-hoperas, soap operas, and Shakespearean style plays. Accessibility in the space: -There are stairs leading up to the secondary performance space utilized for this workshop. -The venue has six private washrooms on the main floor, one of which is fully accessible with a power assisted door.
