Service Description

The Conservatory program is perfect for people who are committed to long form improv and are looking to take their skills to the next level. Improvisers will focus on complex scene work and character development as they continue to deepen their skills and techniques in different styles of long form improv. Students will be grouped in troupes of 6 to 10 individuals. In this course, you'll learn: -Master long-form techniques: deepen your understanding of advanced improvisation principles and formats. -Create and sustain complex characters: develop layered, dynamic characters and bring them to life in captivating scenes. -Expand your performance range: build confidence and versatility by performing across a variety of improv styles and formats. Course fee includes a student's pass to all Instant Theatre produced shows for the term. Class sign up ends February 28th 2025. Accessibility in the space: -There is a powered lift from street level to the main performance space where practices will take place. -The lift is a Garaventa Xpress II – Inclined Platform Lift. -Staff must activate the lift for it to operate. -The lift has a weight capacity of 550 lbs. -The platform size is 31 1/2″ wide by 49 ¼”) long. -The lift has two safety arms that must be lowered for the lift to function. These arms reduce the functional size of the lift to 25″ wide by 46″ long. Larger chairs may not fit on the lift due to the need for the arms to lower/raise. -The venue has six private washrooms on the main floor, one of which is fully accessible with a power assisted door.
