Service Description

In this program, a troupe of improvisers will collaborate with an experienced coach to design and refine their own unique long-form improv format. Participants will receive guidance on creating compelling narratives, establishing strong group dynamics, and designing tailored rehearsals for their original format. In addition to developing their format, the troupe will learn the essential skills needed to produce a polished and engaging performance, including working with venues, marketing strategies, and audience engagement. By the end of the program, participants will have the tools and confidence to bring their original improv show to the stage. Enrolment in the Masters program requires an interview to ensure proper placement. Each troupe member must sign up for the class. After signing up, the troupe will be scheduled for an interview to assess their readiness for the program. If a troupe is not approved for participation, a full refund will be provided. In this course, you’ll learn: -Design a unique long-form format: learn to conceptualize, structure, and refine a long-form format that reflects your troupe’s unique style and personality. -Strengthen team Dynamics: build trust, improve communication, and foster a cohesive environment for seamless group collaboration. -Master show production: gain practical expertise in planning, scheduling, and managing technical elements like lighting and sound to produce polished performances. -Grow Your Audience: explore proven strategies for promoting your show, connecting with your target audience, and building a dedicated fan base. Course fee includes a student's pass to all Instant Theatre produced shows for the term. Class sign up ends February 28th 2025. Accessibility in the space: -There is a powered lift from street level to the main performance space where practices will take place. -The lift is a Garaventa Xpress II – Inclined Platform Lift. -Staff must activate the lift for it to operate. -The lift has a weight capacity of 550 lbs. -The platform size is 31 1/2″ wide by 49 ¼”) long. -The lift has two safety arms that must be lowered for the lift to function. These arms reduce the functional size of the lift to 25″ wide by 46″ long.
